What we store

• Analytics consent — a single value in localStorage (fsg_analytics_consent) recording your choice.
• Anonymous client id — a random identifier (fsg_client_id) in localStorage, only when you accept analytics, so we can count unique visits without identifying you.
• Portal session — a Supabase auth session in localStorage only when a member of staff signs into the Site Portal.

What we track (with consent)

• Page path and referrer of your visit
• Approximate location (country / region / city) from Cloudflare edge headers
• IP address, kept for security and abuse prevention
• User agent (browser / device string)

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party advertising or behavioural tracker. Data is stored on our own infrastructure.

Legal basis

We rely on your consent under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and PECR Regulation 6. Portal session storage is strictly necessary for staff to sign in and does not require consent.

Retention

Analytics rows are kept for up to 12 months. Contact form submissions are kept until we no longer need them for the enquiry, typically 24 months.
